Dear friends,

We are pleased to announce that the CCIVS seminar ‘Migrating Identities – How international voluntary service projects contribute to the inclusion and active participation of young immigrants and refugees in their hosting communities’ will be held from the 29th November to the 5th of December 2010, in Barcelona, Spain, and herewith invite you to apply to participate in the project.

The seminar will address the potential impact and consequences of the intercultural learning processes stimulated by IVS projects on the integration and participation of young immigrants and refugees, focusing on particular aspects affected by the society’s perception of diversity and the ‘other’ like access to territory, rights of resident foreigners and citizenship.

Thirty (30) young people (18 - 30 years old), twenty six (26) of them coming from Council of Europe member states and four (4) from other regions of the world, nominated by a member or partner organisation of CCIVS, will be invited to join the seminar. They should have a clear experience in working with young immigrants and refugees and the local hosting communities, and with knowledge of and experience in implementing intercultural learning processes with very diverse groups.

Interested parties should send their completed Application Form for Participants (see attachment), through their sending organisation, no later than 29 October 2010 to secretariat@ccivs.org

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you need any additional information,

All the best from Paris

CCIVS Secretariat
